Today it was claimed that Savile visited hospital wards to find children to abuse.

There are a growing number of claims that the former TV presenter groped young patients at Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Buckinghamshire, where he worked as a volunteer fundraiser.
Nurses at the hospital are understood to have dreaded his visits because of his behaviour, and would tell children to stay in bed and pretend to be asleep when he came round.

In the wake of the sex abuse claims, Savile's family took the decision to remove the headstone from his grave in Scarborough "out of respect for public opinion".
The £4,000 granite tombstone was smashed into pieces and will be used for landfill following fears that angry mobs could descend on the quiet cemetery.
