Myartscandals | Mindy McCready | Fifth Victim of 'Celeb Rehab' Curse



On Sunday, the body of a country music singer Mindy McCready was found in her Arkansas home after suicide. His death came as a surprise not only for the fans, now casting the spotlight on VH1's "Celebrity Rehab."
The Daily Beast reports they show "Is 'Rehab' Help or Hurt?" McCready is the fifth person who appeared in the reality series died within two years.
Other cast members who were victims of a similar fate reasonable include:
            
Mike Starr (44): The Alice in Chains bassist, who appeared in Season 3 of "Rehab," died of a prescription drug overdose in February 2011.
            
Jeff Conaway (60): May 2011, "Taxi" actor died of pneumonia related to his prescription drug use. Conaway was featured on the first and second season of the show.
            
Rodney King (47): A cast member of Season 2, LAPD brutality victim drowned in a swimming pool in June 2012 after taking a cocktail of alcohol / marijuana. King has been able to stay sober for a year.
            
Joey Kovar (29): The reality TV personality who also appeared on "Real World" was found dead at a friend's house on August 17 after apparent overdose. The official cause of death is currently unknown.
The trend of deaths associated with "Rehab" make thoughtful skepticism among critics of the model shows: put rehabilitation at the camera and pay cast members to participate.



Concern is even more evident now as the show preps for the Season 6 premiere this Sunday, which, for the first time there is a no feature celebrities.Dr. Drew, host of that Gawker has been renamed the "Dr. Death," issued the following statement through your blog VH1 on McCready's death following quotation:

    
"I am deeply saddened by this terrible news. My heart goes out to the family of Mindy and children. She is a lovely lady who will be missed by many people. Though I have not treated her for several years, I have reached out to him recently after hearing about the suicide of her boyfriend and father of her children were younger. She was devastated. Though he feared stigma and ridicule he agreed with me that he must make health and safety a priority. Unfortunately it seems that Mindy did not defend her treatment. "
